Chair One

The design of this chair revolves around the idea of utilizing the oak frame as a clamp to secure the leather seating. To accomplish this, thin slots are milled into the frame. Once the seating is passed through these slots, machine screws are inserted from the bottom, which catch embedded threaded inserts. By tightening the screws, the frame is forced together, effectively clamping the leather in between.
